Privacy Policy
REMI Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) hereby establishes the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as this “Policy”) regarding the handling of users’ personal information in connection with the services provided through this website (hereinafter referred to as the “Services”).
Article 1. Personal Information
“Personal Information” means personal information as defined under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan. It refers to information relating to a living individual that can identify a specific individual through the name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, or other descriptions contained in such information, as well as information that can identify a specific individual by itself, including data relating to physical appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and identifiers such as the insurer number stated on a health insurance card.
Article 2. Methods of Collecting Personal Information
The Company may request personal information from users when they register to use the Services, including their name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver’s license number.
The Company may also collect transaction records and payment-related information containing users’ Personal Information from the Company’s business partners, including information providers, advertisers, and advertising distributors (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Business Partners”).
Article 3. Purposes of Collecting and Using Personal Information
The Company collects and uses Personal Information for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate the Company’s Services.
- To respond to inquiries from users, including verifying the identity of the user.
- To send emails regarding new features, updates, campaigns, and other information relating to the Services currently used by users, as well as information about other services provided by the Company.
- To contact users when necessary regarding maintenance, important notices, and other matters.
- To identify users who have violated the Terms of Use or who attempt to use the Services for fraudulent or improper purposes, and to refuse their use of the Services.
- To allow users to view, change, or delete their registered information and to review their usage status.
- To charge users fees for paid Services.
- For purposes incidental to the purposes listed above.
Article 4. Changes to the Purposes of Use
- The Company may change the purposes of use of Personal Information only when the revised purposes are reasonably considered to be related to the purposes before the change.
- If the purposes of use are changed, the Company will notify users of the revised purposes by a method prescribed by the Company or publish them on this website.
Article 5. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
- Except in the following circumstances, the Company will not provide Personal Information to any third party without obtaining the user’s prior consent. This does not apply where such provision is permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other applicable laws and regulations.
- When it is necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a person and obtaining the consent of the individual is difficult.
- When it is particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound development of children and obtaining the consent of the individual is difficult.
- When it is necessary to cooperate with a national government agency, local government authority, or a party entrusted by such authority in performing duties prescribed by law, and obtaining the individual’s consent may interfere with the performance of those duties.
- When the Company has notified or publicly announced the following matters in advance and has submitted the required notification to the Personal Information Protection Commission:
- That the purposes of use include the provision of Personal Information to third parties.
- The categories of data to be provided to third parties.
- The means or methods by which Personal Information is provided to third parties.
- That the provision of Personal Information to third parties will be discontinued at the request of the individual.
- The method by which requests from the individual will be accepted.
- Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the recipient of Personal Information will not be considered a third party in any of the following circumstances:
- When the Company entrusts all or part of the handling of Personal Information to another party to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use.
- When Personal Information is provided as a result of a business succession arising from a merger or other circumstances.
- When Personal Information is jointly used with a specific party, provided that the Company has notified the individual in advance, or made readily accessible to the individual, the fact that the information will be jointly used, the categories of Personal Information to be jointly used, the scope of the parties jointly using the information, the purposes for which the information will be used, and the name of the person or entity responsible for managing the Personal Information.
Article 6. Disclosure of Personal Information

When an individual requests disclosure of their Personal Information, the Company will disclose such information to the individual without delay.
However, the Company may decline to disclose all or part of the information if disclosure would result in any of the following circumstances. If the Company decides not to disclose the information, it will notify the individual of that decision without delay.
- When disclosure may harm the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the individual or a third party.
- When disclosure may significantly interfere with the proper operation of the Company’s business.
- When disclosure would otherwise violate applicable laws or regulations.
- A fee of JPY 1,000 per request will be charged for the disclosure of Personal Information.
- Notwithstanding the preceding paragraphs, the Company will generally not disclose information other than Personal Information, including browsing history and characteristic information.
Article 7. Correction and Deletion of Personal Information
- If a user’s Personal Information held by the Company is inaccurate, the user may request that the Company correct, add to, or delete such Personal Information in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the Company (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Correction, etc.”).
- If the Company determines that it is necessary to comply with the user’s request under the preceding paragraph, the Company will carry out the Correction, etc. of the relevant Personal Information without delay.
- If the Company carries out a Correction, etc. pursuant to the preceding paragraph, or decides not to carry out such Correction, etc., the Company will notify the user of that decision without delay.
Article 8. Suspension of Use, etc. of Personal Information
- If an individual requests that the Company suspend the use of or delete their Personal Information on the grounds that the information is being handled beyond the scope of the stated purposes of use or that it was obtained through improper means (hereinafter referred to as “Suspension of Use, etc.”), the Company will conduct the necessary investigation without delay.
- If, based on the results of the investigation described in the preceding paragraph, the Company determines that it is necessary to comply with the request, the Company will carry out the Suspension of Use, etc. of the relevant Personal Information without delay.
- If the Company carries out a Suspension of Use, etc. pursuant to the preceding paragraph, or decides not to carry out such Suspension of Use, etc., the Company will notify the user of that decision without delay.
- Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, if carrying out a Suspension of Use, etc. would involve substantial expense or would otherwise be difficult, and alternative measures can be taken to protect the user’s rights and interests, the Company will implement such alternative measures.
Article 9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
- Except where otherwise provided by applicable laws or this Policy, the Company may revise the contents of this Policy without prior notice to users.
- Unless otherwise specified by the Company, the revised Privacy Policy will become effective when it is posted on this website.
